Treating Animals with Reiki
Animals are naturally open to Reiki energy and will seek out your touch whenever they are in need of a boost. Like children, they will naturally know when they have had enough. Usually, during a treatment they become quite calm and relaxed. However, if they are not, do not force a treatment on them. If you have taken Second Decree you can use the absentee symbol and Reiki their food.
As with treating humans, special attention should be given to areas that draw large amounts of energy. If an animal is very restless, or it seems dangerous to treat with hands on, absentee healing can be utilised.
Please note: Please check your countries guidelines on treating animals prior to giving them a treatment. For example: in the UK, you must first consult and receive consent from the animal's vet, as well as their owners, prior to treating them with Reiki.
