Distant healing is a Reiki method where Reiki energy is sent from a Reiki practitioner or master in one geographic location to a person (who requested the healing) in another geographic location. The results can be just as good as the results of sessions done in the physical. This form of healing was developed by Dr. Usui, who developed Reiki. He called it 'The Photograph Technique' because he required a photo of the person receiving Reiki in order to send the Reiki energy to them. Anyone who is a Reiki Practitioner (with a Reiki II degree) or a Reiki Master can provide this service. Distance Healing can also be known under the names 'abstensia healing' and 'remote healing'.
