Why is there a waiting period before 2nd and 3rd Reiki Degrees? |
|
|
The reason for a six month waiting period between 2nd and Masters Degree is to allow the body to adjust to the fine tuning that occurs in the initiation which can result in an inner cleaning, on either a physical, emotional/mental and spiritual level. It is also to gain confidence and experience with energy and the techniques taught in Reiki 2. Only once you have lived with Reiki, breathed Reiki and have your own understanding of what Reiki means to you should you consider becoming a Reiki Master. After all, you can't teach something that you don't know yourself. There is no rule that states you have to complete all the Reiki degrees. After Reiki II, you may feel that you have enough tools and feel there is no need to move onto Reiki Masters. Others do want to complete the three degrees purely because they want to understand everything there is to Reiki training and want to be a part of the group that is able to share the knowledge of Reiki. Some enter Reiki Master training with no intention of teaching, they just want to 'finish' the training. The choice of where you want to take Reiki is up to you...the most important thing is to just enjoy the journey and to enjoy the journey, you must take time to experience it!
